INFO FOR ART SENT VIA E-MAIL
Platform: Mac
Accepted Formats: EPS,TIFF
Programs we support: Adobe Illustrator 9.0 or lower.

If documents include type, screen and printer fonts must be attached or be converted to outlines or curves. We can-not access PC fonts. (Please note that sometimes TrueType fonts will not print properly.)For documents in Illustrator or CorelDraw, all items should be converted to outlines or curves with CorelDraw files exported as EPS or AI files. Documents in Illustrator must have all EPS and/or TIFF files in the same folder or the same package to avoid confusion and make production possible. Documents in Photoshop should NOT be halftones (grayscale or CMYK) and resolution should not be lower than 600 dpi @ final size (1200 dpi preferred). Phone and fax numbers, as well as contact name(s), P.O. numbers and Item description should be included on e-mail messages in case we have any questions about art. Send only one file at a time and, if possible, use a compression utility to avoid corruption of files. Please fax with your P.O. a composite of your artwork to verify position & placement. We do not accept files in Powerpoint, Publisher, MS Word, and other word processing programs as well as low-resolution .jpg, .gif or .bmp. Any piece of art that has to be separated, typeset, spread, trapped, converted, or 'cleaned-up' in any way is NOT 'camera-ready' and the work required on our end is billable at the rate of $45/hr.
SPECS FOR CAMERA-READY ART
Following are the specs we require to avoid costs on incoming art:

1. Any type that "knocks out" (white or lighter letters) of a solid or reverse area should be at least 5 pt. type and sans serif so that it will not fill in on press. Any lines on graphics or logos should be at least 2 pts. in width for the same reason.
2. Any colors adjacent to each other need to "trap" or overlap for correct registration on press. Traps should be approximately .25pts. or 1/64". For colors printing next to black, traps can go up to 1/16 " .
3. Paper mechanicals should be on coated or photographic paper from a laser printer or stat camera to make sure image is crisp and does not have jagged edges.
4. Concerning halftones or art with screens:
  • a) Our maximum screen is 70 lpi.
  • b) Highlights cannot have less than a 20% dot throughout so that a "hard edge " will not result.
  • c) Darkest part of screen cannot be more than 50% color or it will fill in on press.
  • d) If at all possible, substitute washes (or lighter shades of PMS colors) for screens because they print better than screens.
5. If art is to bleed off the label, that bleed area (measuring 1/8" ) should be included on the art.
6. All mechanicals MUST be prepared with copy at least 1/8" from the die cut label area on all 4 sides.
7. Art with halftones/tints must be electronic (on disc) since they don' t scan cleanly.

Please Note: All images will be sized to the maximum imprint area of the item, unless the client specifies a requested size (ie. Actual Size, Enlarge or Reduce).

Actual Size - The artwork is the exact size the customer sent.

Maximum Imprint Area - The artwork will be enlarged or reduced porportionally to fit the imprint area.
